An app that allows you to search for a favorite craft beer in various pubs, see the details and reach the place using an interactive map.

Who

Beerd is a startup created by a beer lover who wanted to develop an app for the enthusiasts of this beverage. What fueled this project was pure love to craft beer – the greatest passion of our client. The app was about to compliment his previous work – bringing beer passionates together and building a rapidly growing social media community. 

Problem

As the project was a classic startup idea, the challenge was to quickly create an app for very different groups of users. What we had in mind was carrying on with the idea of community – the user should not only get the information about his favorite beverages and places but also be an active part of the app, helping bring it to the next level.

Solution

Starting with the brainstorming and design thinking session, we didn’t wait long to perform research and test the idea on future users. The app was built in a quite modern way, using the Atomic Design approach – we developed different parts of it, then put them into tests, presenting the solution to initial users in order to make sure that what we believed was right. 

Keeping the agile approach, step by step we turned a beer geek’s dream into a working mobile application. Picking the right technology, such as cross-platform framework – Ionic, and a Firebase BaaS, we managed to develop an MVP within only 4 weeks, letting the client focus on promoting and constantly improving the app.

Business results

After the release, the app received great notes of the craft beer world and received a couple of investment offers.
